I think so, but a long time ago. Tom & I did just about everything possible in VC including the VC to Gold Hill train ride.Have you ever been in that museum in the picture?
Yes, but the lake water was way too low until recently. I walked out to the middle of the lake the last time I was there before yesterday. Yesterday was too windy for small boats, but the water looked deep enough at the boat ramp. I took those photos from one of the boat ramps, so obviously boats are allowed. There is no fee for the park or to use the boat ramp there on Hwy 50. There are other parks around the lake that have feesNo boats on the lake. Are they allowed?
That is my motorcycle helmet on a locked cable, so I do not have to take it with me.What's that thing at the back tire of your motorcycle?
Nope. But I have had it there before.Did you buy some Jerky to bring home?
Guess you are getting some rain? Good to hear out there.water was way too low until recently.
Oh, now I see it.motorcycle helmet
That sounds fun. I love train rides.
Here, we get more snow than rain during the year. I was very surprised how much water there was in Lake Lahortan yesterday. Perhaps a lot of snow melted since then, because we didn't get that much rain. In fact, last January was the driest ever in Reno.Guess you are getting some rain?
Pretty picture. Is the snow gone by Memorial Day?Today, I took a ride to Rock Lake.
We hope so, the campground up there is supposed to open the weekend before.Pretty picture. Is the snow gone by Memorial Day?
At 10,000 feet elevation, snow can probably happen any time of year. In Reno, at 5K' elevation (my houses are/were a bit higher than the rest of Reno) we had HEAVEY snow one year on July 20. I think that was year 2002, around 20 years ago.Pretty picture. Is the snow gone by Memorial Day?
We lived in Cheyenne, WY at 6,000' elevation for 18 years and I drove about the area doing service calls. One June 14(easy to remember as it was Flag Day) I started to pull on to I80 to head west to Laramie for work and the road was closed due to snow! We had received about 6" of snow in town the the pass to the west was closed until late afternoon.THe funny thing was, the snow started exactly at the elevation sign for 3,000 feet.
