    09 Tour 40TD Electrical Gremlin

UPDATE: Our electrical gremlin was a short in the AC output in the inverter. A wire had rubbed against the back panel of the inverted and melted connectors and wires. Our tech cut out the mess and made clean connections. The ol? Dimensions inverter/charger/fast transfer has been revived! Thanks...

    09 Tour 40TD Electrical Gremlin

We do have a ?sub main? panel with breaker switches to all inverter outlets. They all look fine. The mobile tech checked power going into and out of the main panel and sub main and said it looked good. The Dimensions LED display appears normal. CHGR-FLOAT MODE. and INVERTER OFF-PUSH FOR...

    09 Tour 40TD Electrical Gremlin

Thanks for that info! I think we?ve spotted the fuse. (Did I mention we?re not electronically inclined? ?) We will check it out. Was it easy to find a replacement? ??crossed that the fix is that simple. But, it is the original inverter, so... Good to know a good replacement option.

    09 Tour 40TD Electrical Gremlin

Fortunately, we haven?t had to tap this amazing resource for years. But, we?re back! Saturday, while connected to shore power, we lost power to all inverted outlets. We are not electrically inclined, so we had a mobile tech check things out. He could not find the source of the problem. Plan B...

    class A gas

We had a 2008 Voyage 32H, which we used for weekends and vacations for a year and full-timed in for four months before we bought our current DP. The 32H (which was a Voyage/Sunrise model in 2008 and has been an Adventurer/Suncruiser since) has a great floorplan, in our opinion. The full wall...

    New (More) Winnebago Issues

This post prompted us to review our spreadsheet of issues we've had with our Tour since we purchased it in Nov. '09. There are 42 items on that list, which includes the replacement of our heat pump which was completed last week after 14 months of visiting Winnie dealers, RVP authorized techs and...

What to do in Forest City?

Pammel Park in Forest City is a lovely place to hang out for awhile. In fact, we usually stay there and enjoy the peace and quiet over  the "madness" of Camp Winnebago. There are picnic tables, trails and plenty of room for the pooches to roam. Enjoy your stay.

Is it normal for my RV to be impossible to keep cool interior while driving?

Jim and Linda - We're currently in Colorado Springs (where it's sunny and 90-ish) waiting for a service appointment for our basement air. We worked with Turbo's Mobile RV Repair (in Monument, but Eric will travel to the Springs), which was highly recommended by RVP. Eric made the diagnosis...

Sirus radio in my Journey appears to be failing

And we just spent time and money having the docking station replaced for our older-than-yours Stratus? Hmmm. Well, it sounds like you found a great solution for considerably less. Good on ya, mate!

Sirus radio in my Journey appears to be failing

To clarify, the prices I found online for the Sirius docking station were retail prices. We certainly don't expect Winnebago to charge customers less than that! But, they charged us nearly twice average retail. And, lest we forget, charged 2.5 hours labor to install it. Sounds like a very...

    Removing ceiling puck light?

Is it the white light fixture above your One Place panel? If so, we just had ours replaced, and we have the old fixture. So, I have a good idea of how it comes apart (and would be happy to post a picture if that would help.) Now we're trying to remember how to replace the lightbulb...so we can...

Sirus radio in my Journey appears to be failing

The rest of the story.... Factory Service diagnosed our problem as a bad dash radio. They explained that they needed some kind of part to do the installation, which would require some kind of mod to the existing dash radio opening. We waited two days for the part to come in. Apparently they...

Sirus radio in my Journey appears to be failing

Update: We're in Forest City for service (Actually, we're staying in a hotel in Clear Lake!) and we had Winnebago check out our problem with the Sirius radio. The diagnosis is a problem with the Jensen dash radio. And, of course, Jensen doesn't make that model anymore. Not sure what we'll end up...

Sirus radio in my Journey appears to be failing

We're dealing with the same problem. We have the "plug and play", with the tuner in an overhead cabinet. We haven't really been able to do any troubleshooting, but I think we'll be replacing a tuner or an antenna soon.

Looking for a rig model with the TV at comfortable height

Eric - We had an '08 Voyage 32H before we bought our Tour. That is one sweet floor plan. And, the TV location was definitely well-placed. The 32H floor plan was introduced as a Voyage/Sunrise in 2008. The Voyage/Sunrise names were retired the next year. But, the 32H lives on as an...
