indoor non-electric space heater needed

Why not kerosene, because, as I said, you already have propane on board.  Why carry another flammable liquid around if you don't have to.  Also, a propane heater can be plumbed in a permanent or semi-permanent installation.  I also recall from my tent camping days that the kerosene heaters smelled pretty bad :)
 
Also, you have to cart the thing outside to refill it, unless you want to risk spilling it inside. Diesel smells worse, but not by much. I would also make certain I had a good, working CO detector! You wouldn't want to wake up to find out you didn't wake up.
