Dad was a P51 pilot. Flew with Preddy, "Punchy" Powell, and Whisner. DFC, AM, and UC. Brother is retired 727 jockey. I am a PP and air show junkie. Never flew with anyone famous but my first airplane ride ever was in a 152 and the pilot was named Wright. No kidding.

Well you had a namesake called Duane Cole. He was an aerobatic pilot. His finale was an inverted ribbon pick up. I got to hold one of the poles at one of the airshows one time. When he came through inverted I swear it looked like a cartoon. All I could see in the cockpit was a giant head and eyeballs - LOL...

Had is name lettered inverted on the sides of his plane.
