I have a video of hummingbirds swarming around a feeder. The video runs about 30 seconds. I would like a still photo from somewhere in the video run and was told by the photo department in a big box store that it couldn't be done. Can anyone help? I'm thinking that there must be some way to do this.
Thanks

It can be done, but usually the quality of the image is not very good.  Especially with something that moves faster than the camera's shutter, like a humming birds wings.

As above, what is it's current format?

It can be done very easily. Play the video on your computer and press pause where you want to take a photo. Open up the Windows Snipping Tool and take a photo. Then save it to your hard drive. If you were shooting in HD the image should look pretty good.
