    My thermostat used to lock up as well.  I called the manufacture and they said it could be a bad ballast from a florescent light, or interference from cordless telephones, or even wireless router.  Not sure about any of those, but I had a solenoid replaced not too long ago and ever since...

    I've never understood why dealerships won't let you test drive, or at least take you on a test drive.  When putting down that kind money I expect to be able to drive the thing.  I walked out several times over this.

    GFCI Problems

    You might want to check your inverter as well.  I had a simliar problem and my inverter was tripping causing the GFCI to trip, and stay tripped, as well.  My inverter has a reset button.  Yours may or may not but it's worth a look.
