Getting BETTER cell phone reception on the road....

OK, makes sense now...  That explains why my T-mobile phone doesn't work some places where a Verizon phone does. From all my rummaging it looks like the Wilson RV setup would be my best choice...  No antenna to plug in... I surely do wish I could find somebody that could tell me whether or not...

Getting BETTER cell phone reception on the road....

Being woefully ignorant of which phone is which, what does GSM versus CDMA mean?  And as far as networks, when I'm in East Overshoe and the only thing that shows up is "Union Telephone", how does that translate to Verizon or AT&T?  And where does T-Mobile fit into all this, or does it? As far...

Getting BETTER cell phone reception on the road....

    Hello?  Trac phone?  Reception?  Amplifiers?

Getting BETTER cell phone reception on the road....

does the Trac Phone have a decent data signal?  'Cause that's at LEAST as important as making calls.  How does the amplifier/antenna thing work?  Does it just create a wi-fi hotspot?  Do people doing this on the road just put the antenna on a pole or something so they can elevate it on their...

Getting BETTER cell phone reception on the road....

OK, I can now make this a more specific question: For those of you using amplifiers and/or antennas, or whatever.  When camped in the Yellowstone campground at Fishing Bridge (the only campground with RV facilities at Yellowstone), does your equipment give you a USABLE data/cell connection?

No right-side brake light on 5th wheel

New socket...  Now have lights............ Of course, since I also had to plug and unplug the truck, it's ALWAYS possible it wasn't the socket, it was something in the plug.  BUT, either way, I DON'T CARE!  They're working and whether it was something truly bizarre as in my poor...

Getting BETTER cell phone reception on the road....

I have no idea whether this is a "tech" issue, a "5th wheel" issue, or a "general" issue, but: We travel to places where cell phones have poor reception.  I may get 1 or maybe 2 bars, but I frequently am stuck with gprs or edge (which I think is 2g and a lot slower than 3g).  We're often only a...

No right-side brake light on 5th wheel

I can't guarantee it's not something failed in the 5-4 or 3-2 converter, but a: it's been working for 14 years with the old trailer, and b: I have PERFECT brake and tail lights at the PLUG on the truck............. BUT, I was out there fiddling with the back of the trailer today in the good...

No right-side brake light on 5th wheel

Yup, as I said, when I tested the plug at the truck, I ABSOLUTELY had blinking for turn signals, AND solid light for the brake lights on both sides.  I even went BACK out a second time and tested everything on the truck 'cause I couldn't believe the problem was in the trailer... The truck DOES...

No right-side brake light on 5th wheel

I wasn't sure whether this should be a 5th wheel thing or a tech thing, so I put it here... We have a new Keystone Cougar High Country 246 5th wheel (normal, little 5th wheel).  It has the standard 7 wire plug.  I have NO right-side brake light on the trailer...  I have TAIL lights on both...

    Securing dining area chairs

On our old trailer the chairs migrated all over the place.  We had them attached with a bungee.  On the new one they don't seem to be as inclined to wander, but I'd still prefer to attach them.  And the loose webbed strap isn't real efficient. I think I'll see about setting up something with...

    Securing dining area chairs

Our new 5th wheel has a dining area slideout, in which are the free-standing chairs and table.  The table is screwed down, but the chairs are just sitting there. Do y'all with this setup secure your chairs when traveling?  If so, how? Ours has a loose, webbed strap that goes around the canter...

    Gas valve and switching tanks?

Either they explained it badly, or I understood it badly!  After all this, I went out and played with the tanks...  It works EXACTLY the way the one did on the old trailer.  The only difference is that on that one you rotated a knob, and on this one you flip a lever! We always periodically...

    Gas valve and switching tanks?

Now I'm wondering if I misunderstood the explanation...  'Cause what you're saying makes a LOT more sense that what I THOUGHT I heard.  The valve/regulator/switch is on the "passenger" side, above the propane tank.  There's a line in from the passenger tank and a line that comes across from the...

    Gas valve and switching tanks?

Not new to RVs but new to our current 5th wheel... On our old 5th wheel we had a valve that automatically switched from propane tank to the other propane tank.  When it switched, a RED indicator showed up on the valve above the regulator.  You turned a knob so the "backup" tank was now current...
