Instead of going to heavier rating tires why not just commercial tires and be done with it. Our Teton came with Goodyear Marathons. Pure junk. Installed Michelin XPS Rib tires and been trouble free.
We have a whirlpool residential fridge in our Teton factory installed new. It is a 2003 model. I replaced the ice crusher motor 2 years ago. Trouble free with that exception.
We found a dually for a daily commute is one expensive truck to operate. We carry a Smart on the bed of our truck. It is our daily commute. Very inexpensive and great grocery getter.
My Teton list my gross at 1900ish. Also a different model same length Teton lists as 2400ish. Same chassis, construction, etc only tires different. So the tires are the limiting factor on mine. I upgraded tires. Check out yours. May be similar.
Actually triple stacked frame. Full 17" worth. 3.5" thick wall with wool insulation. They are also very heavy because of the use of heavy construction. They hold up well. You pay for what you get. We live full time in a 2006 TK3. We now have a Teton which is a better unit and heavier. Thor just...
I realize some use the Anderson 5th wheel hitch but personally I feel it is too light. Yes it tows the unit but what happens in an accident where it is stressed fore and apt. Is it going to collapse and go into truck. This is just an area where I feel needs much more thought than most put into...
Many diesels get 18-21 normal driving. You need to check your facts also. Also your pin weight is likely dry. They are always much higher. I have seen s-10s with a 5th wheel hitch on them towing. It would be comical if it wasn't so dangerous.
What does it have for running gear? What weight? What roof and floor insulation/thickness? or other words Is the infrastructure adequate. This is seldom overlooked.
Well I have not had any issues with our Teton. Have upgraded some things but is is 12 years old. I would still put it against anything not custom built today. It was high priced even then compared to today's prices. So money does reflect quality.
