    July run into Canada?

Hi there, We stayed in Whistlers campground in Jasper last August, and our rig is only 30 ft, so I'm not sure about your 38 (and you probably have a toad).  I know some provincial park campgrounds won't take anything that long, but Banff and Jasper are National Parks, not provincial, so the...

    Cold Weather Living`

Bill, we tried the shrink wrap hairdryer thing last year in Vancouver and it didn't help any.  Only got condensation on the inside of that!  I think the airflow thing is the only thing that helps.  Gotta open a window here or there, even a crack and not for long.  I have sinus problems too. ...

    More poop talk

Thank you so much, everyone!  I will give the cleaning and probably the vinegar soak a try.  The water is awful here.  I am thinking a new seal will be good after we get home.  The motorhome is 7 years old and a previous rental, so I'm sure it's due. Now here's another somewhat related...

    More poop talk

Well, not really, but just a simple question:  My toilet bowl won't hold water any more.  It doesn't "drain" quickly, but if we fill up the bowl to look like it would back home in our regular house, it will surely be dry by morning.  Thoughts?  There is obviously something that is not sealing...

    RV Park rates and memberships

Hmm, Wendy, I like that idea.  Wouldn't like to have to wait for a card to arrive in the mail, as we are leaving in about a month's time.  On the other hand, they don't issue card at the campground, do they?  Clearly I've got a spot of research to do! Janina

    RV Park rates and memberships

Hmm, I'll check the websites for both GS and Passport America and see if the campgrounds line up with our route.  I am assuming a Canadian can get a membership.  I would probably just pay for it online with a credit card and get my card in the mail? Thanks for the input, guys. Janina

    RV Park rates and memberships

I know rates are all over the board depending on season/facilities/location etc, but... I was wondering if it is (a) possible and (b) beneficial for a Canadian such as myself to get a Passport America membership or the like? (can't think of any others at the moment)  We stay about 10 separate...

    Driving with kids

We travel with our two 10 year olds, and we travel long days.  We ask that wherever they are, they put a seatbelt on, but we do allow them to get up to change from couch to dinette or to go to the bathroom.  I make the lunch before we take off for the day, and make one trip to the back to a) go...

advantages of Streets & Trips or Street Atlas over paper and Google Maps?

Wow, this is all FASCINATING stuff, you guys!  I am so new to all this.  Not sure about getting an actual GPS, but this USB GPS thingy sounds interesting, and cheaper, I would imagine.  I'll have to do some research.  Yes, lots of this stuff costs money, and I'm not sure how much we are willing...

advantages of Streets & Trips or Street Atlas over paper and Google Maps?

Hi all, just getting into this RV thing, having owned and travelled part time for a year now.  So far, as far as planning our drives, we do as much as possible before we leave our sticks and bricks house, but when we are on the road, we make sure to have a campsite with wifi and plan out the...

    First RV trip

Hey there, We bought what I think you are renting!  30 ft Class C, Ford V10.  Bought it on Labor Day weekend last year and have had nothing but success with it.  Put about 12 000 KM on it and used all of it heavily, considering we're a family of 4. I agree on the toilet paper thing, and we are...

    RV books and guides

Joel, thanks for reminding me about the www.rvparkreviews.com site.  I planned our trip last year with it, but had forgotten about it!  I second the motion that this is an awesome site!  Janina

    Campsites with Hummingbirds in Mexico???

Hi there, this winter will be our second winter at a campground in Northern Mazatlan.  There are at least 4 units with hummingbird feeders and they are all over the place.  Not sure on what kind they are though, sorry.  They also nest every year in the bamboo!  I was lucky enough to get pics of...

    Toad

ugh.  Okay, I went to the Remco site and I think I see where you guys are getting that info.  I guess $1000 plus tow bar and base plates is cheaper than getting a new car and outfitting that.  This might have to wait till next year.  We'll tough out one more year with public transport and...

    Toad

I know this is an old thread, but perhaps someone will see.  If not, I'll start a new one. We have a '93 Toyota Tercel (automatic) and an '89 Toyota Cressida (also automatic).  Any ideas on how to find out if they are towable 4 down without much to do? Janina
