Overheated Transmission? Spewed fluid after pulling long grade.....

thanks for the replies, folks. I did notice the fluid that leaked out was a bit darker than fresh T-fluid, but it does have at least 50K miles on it. It was not burnt, but just a bit darker. I crawled under and took a good look.....it appears the fluid was coming out of the top...

Overheated Transmission? Spewed fluid after pulling long grade.....

Thanks folks. Definitely coming out of my rig…dripping off of the front of trans, bell housing area. now I discovered that I used type F, 4 quarts, to refill it….when it should have been Mercon. Ugh. I made an appointment to have it serviced…..but that’s not till October 10th. I have to drive...

Overheated Transmission? Spewed fluid after pulling long grade.....

Howdy folks, it's been awhile since I've been here, but we are out on the road once again. anyway, a few days ago, we went up the long steep grade out of Ocotillo on I-8, unfortunately in the heat of the day (100+) I kept a close eye on the engine temp guage, and while it did get hot, it did...

    Lock Fees

Yes, they are everywhere! I paid it, reluctantly, at Campland by the Bay in San Diego, but only because we are going out there to camp with our Son and his family, and we wanted 2 sites next to each other. I normally would not really care which site I get, and would not pay extortion....haha...

    Onan Marquis 5000 producing only 100 volts….

well, just to circle back and provide what I found to be the problem.....hopefully to help someone else figure out a similar problem..... It was loose wires. On the transfer switch. Anybody know where that switch (relay) is????? The breaker panel has a steel "divider" spot welded in......to...

any chance of 17" wheels and tires fitting on my '96 Pace Arrow?

I'm due for tires. wondering if I might as well get new larger wheels too.....I know my ford explorer with 17" wheels sure rides a helluvalot better than my other vehicles with 16's.... it looks like I have clearance. Wondering if anybody else has tried this. TIA.

    Onan Marquis 5000 producing only 100 volts….

Thanks Gary and Henry. Upon further investigation….. 1. the 30A breaker on the side of the generator control box trips immediately upon start up. If I reset it while running, it stalls the generator. The 20 amp circuit works, although it has the low voltage. 2. if I try to manually throttle...

    Onan Marquis 5000 producing only 100 volts….

In the middle of a long road trip and suddenly my generator won’t run the air conditioners. They work fine on shore power. Measured voltage with generator running, only getting 100 to 102 volts. The engine runs just fine, and the a/c starts and runs but won’t cool. the manual mentions a voltage...

Dometic RM 3862 quit working in LP gas mode....

so, it ended up being the thermocouple. I did test it, it produced 21mv when heated with a lighter but it took a looooong time to come up. Not sure how those "wear out", but the new one, when tested the same way, came up to 26mv in about one fourth the time. Figure the control board...
