As a homebrewer, I have to sanitize my brewery equipment prior to use. They sell Star san in the brewing store that is a food grade sanitizer. You mix 1oz with 5 gallons of water. Soak/drain/use. Since it is food grade, it is safe to drink, leaves no taste. I'm wondering about using in my...
Getting our first motorhome and wondering what you should know about tow dollies before you buy one. I'm guess not all are alike. Weights/brakes/maneuvering out of the way and so on. Any insights greatly appreciated!
Having an issue with the inverter in my 5th wheel. Remote control panel doesn't work. Checked connection from battery to inverter, shows 13.4V. Have residential frig. Works when attached to shore power, not without. Interior LED lights work either way. I'm not the most handy of repairmen. ...
Going down to the heart of Dixie in April and wondered what experiences with fleas & ticks getting into the rig via the dog? Any solutions? Don't know if it will be no problem, a minor problem or worse. Headed to the woods by a lake in Georgia.
I would agree with what has been previously said about weight. Just looking at what you said my first thought was loose about a 1/3 of that weight. That gets you down to an empty weight of 9250lbs. We have had 2 Jayco 5th wheels and have loved them. Due to weight, I would look at the smaller...
Our 40ft Jayco has 6 legs down when the auto levelers get done (not including the 4 tires). Pretty solid and I do not have a king pin stablizer.
As for the wife? (Been there done that...her telling me what to do). She still tells me what to do and I decide whether to do it or not. No frying...
I agree that 550 over the mountains of SW Colorado is a spectacular ride! Other than grade which though somewhat steep on both sides with switchbacks, it should be no problem. The switchbacks are not tight and there are steeper grades in Colorado. Just keep an eye on the weather forecast...
Travelling from Denver to Augusta, GA in April. Would like to complete 2nd day on the road somewhere East of St. Louis. (within an hour east). This would be an overnight stop. So far can only find 2 1/2 star or less in industrial areas with noise. Bad neighborhoods or tiny sites. Pulling...
When not using the 5th wheel the truck still has the hitch in it. The hitch is too heavy to take out/put in by one person. I've seen some people suggest just leaving it attached to the kingpin. That seems reasonable. Just wondering what other ideas might be out there.
Our Jayco Pinnacle has a residential refrigerator. Just got it, but was told it runs on regular current from the Inverter when going down the road. Power supplied by the truck. Is that correct?
Hi! Planning a 2 week stay in April at St. Petersburg Campground (Corps of Engineers) at Strom Thurmond Lake in Appling, GA. 40ft Jayco Pinnacle will be home. Does anyone have any experience with these camp sites and how they are for such a large rig?
