Ford F-250 6.7 SW towing capacity

I was going to start a new thread but figured that this would be a good one to piggy-back on: We have a Puma 20QB and tow it with a 2008 Ford F-250 Lariat with the 6.4L diesel. We live in North Florida and occasionally venture to the mountains of North Georgia. The F-250 tows the Puma...

Interior Water Damage - In Over Our heads?

Thanks, Frizlefrak & Derby6! I can't really say how much I've got invested in the project. The flooring was $250 but I bought an extra box which is going back. So I'm right around $200 there. I'd estimate about $300 in lumber and paneling, patching materials, paint, etc., plus a few assorted...

Interior Water Damage - In Over Our heads?

We're coming down the home stretch - finally! Here's a shot from Saturday not long after I started putting down the new flooring. We went with Allure from Home Depot. This is the "floating" kind of vinyl. It's really great stuff. Looks like a million bucks and Mama is happy (happy wife - happy...

    RV Flooring Options

This is sort of an "add-on" thread to my earlier water damage post: To repair the water-damaged area, I removed about 30 square foot of carpeting and probably 40-50 square feet of vinyl including that which was installed under the carpet. I replaced a section of subfloor about 4'x2' with real...

Interior Water Damage - In Over Our heads?

Thanks a lot, Gary. I will definitely give that a go. And thanks, also, kdbgoat. I had not thought about that. I worked in the paint industry many years ago and have used drywall mud since dinosaurs roamed the Earth to perform large-area wall repairs. What do they make for walls that is more...

Interior Water Damage - In Over Our heads?

It's been a while since I've checked in (too busy working on repairs). I thought that I would post a photo to show our progress thus far. I think that we're doing pretty well. I've got a coat of drywall mud on the seams between the new wall paneling and old. I'm going to try to blend this is. I...

Interior Water Damage - In Over Our heads?

Thanks again for the advice, Gary! I thought that I would check in with an update in the hope that others can benefit from my "experience": All-in-all, it could have been worse; much worse. I've attached a photo that shows the extent of the rebuild. The fact that the use of non-standard...

Who makes, and stands behind, the best trailer?

The wife an I are still newbies - two years since we purchased our first travel trailer. In another thread, I have described the issues we are now experiencing with water intrusion. Ours is a 2008 Puma 20QB by Palomino. Tearing things apart to get to - and repair - the water damage, I am simply...

    First travel trailer purchase

Hi jbwagner! My wife and I are also relative newbies. Two years ago Thursday, we brought home our first travel trailer. We found it on Craigslist about two hours away. It sat in our driveway for nearly a year before we ever took it out. We are very happy that we bought it. But the old...

    Mattress Help

Ditto here. I don't recall where the wife found it. But that was about what we paid, also. It's really great. The foam thing that our trailer came with was on par with a chaise lounge pad that you'd get at Lowe's. Shop around. But I would not recommend spending more than a few hundred dollars.

Interior Water Damage - In Over Our heads?

Thanks to all for the advice. You bet, ArdraF. I've determined that the water came in from around the window. I noticed that the caulking on the outside is of two different shades. This further leads me to believe that the previous owner knew of the problem. Could be why he was selling the...

Interior Water Damage - In Over Our heads?

Thanks a lot, Gary. I suspect that the previous owner knew about the problem when he sold the trailer. But that's water under the bridge, no pun intended. It looks like the water got in through the lower left corner of the window since there does not appear to be any damage up top. But I can't...
