Has anyone opened and RV account through Winegard vs going directly to DTV?  If so, what was your experience and is there any difference?

My experience with "Company A" through "Company B" has not been pleasant. I much prefer to deal with each company independently. I am not a fan of trying to fix a TV problem by calling a phone company. (Just a random example, your situation is different.)

You may want to read this post re Direct TV  "Direct TV will end SD broadcasts in 2019"  by Started by Gary RV Roamer  in the "PCs, Communications, Electronics"  forums and you may want to get your post moved over to the  "PCs, Communications, Electronics"  forum also.  Dick

Who do you call when you have a satellite problem? Winegard or DTV?  Lots of places act as agents to sell the subscription, but you still are a direct-DirectTV customer. I don't know if that's the case with Winegard or not, but I would want DTV to know who I am and treat me as their customer.
