Does anyone now what this means?  (gross trailer weight braked (lbs) 6,400)  I have been trying for two days to find out what my max towing capacity is on my '06 sierra, with the 4.8L, automatic truck has and I came across this on the GMC website.  I even asked the dealer today and they could only tell my my curb weight of my truck (3,233lbs).  I hope this will be part of my equation to figure out what I can tow effectively.  Thanks.

You can look up your tow capacity in the 2006 Trailer Life Towing Guide

Where did you find the term "Gross Trailer Weight Braked"? I've not heard that one before, nor can I find any definition of it.

That term was in my truck manual.  I finally talked to the dealer that sold me the vehicle and they confirmed what I found on the web, my tow capacity is 6700lbs.  I just need to find an RV now that will fit into this category.

It means you can tow a trailer weighing up to 6700 lbs if it has brakes.  Trailers without brakes are restricted to a lower weight.
