From the OP...  This was a TTH --  a Total Thread Hijacking.
Much fun;    ;D I popped some popcorn and sat back and enjoyed it.  Thanks all!

TTH?!! The problem is, you started it out wrong...obviously.  ;D

I will also post back on topic.

With very few exceptions (Example Bluegrass Music at a Blue Grass Festival)

Odds are if you play music, OF ANY KIND,  loud enough for your neighbors to hear. Someone is going to be upset.. I have seen exactly ONE exception to that in my travels... My next site neighbor was playing music fairly softly.. I could hear it but I seriously doubt any other site could.... And he happened to be playing music that is on my "Favorites" list.  In fact, I had to listen to the radio station ID so I could dial it in myself.

When we were staying in campgrounds without hookups a lot, I contemplating designing and building an insulated "generator box"...something that would accommodate intake air, exhaust, and push/pull DC fans to bring cooling air into the design, yet minimize noise.  I still say it could be done fairly cheaply and cut gen noise dramatically.
