Fifth wheel insurance for a stationary unit

You are correct.  The nature of the rig being in an uncontrolled environment much of the time in a stationary site is the sticking point. .  Also, the Progressive policy I had has no provision for liability when it is unattached from a tow vehicle.  I will be going from  a 267 annual policy...

Fifth wheel insurance for a stationary unit

We recently traded up to a newer fifth wheel.  I had the insurance agent transfer our policy to the new unit, which will sit in a seasonal campground (all year).  The carrier, Progressive now says they will not cover our fifth wheel insurance because the unit is stationary.  I tried other...

    Roof Air Conditioner Seal Replacement

Thanks for the info!  Upon closer inspection, I found that the gasket was not the culprit.  It was leaking in on the roof edge adjacent to the air conditioner unit, following the interior roof panel, and leaking in around the air conditioner, not through it.  I happened to notice water stains on...

    Roof Air Conditioner Seal Replacement

I have a nasty water leak coming in from my air conditioner opening.  I have tried to tighten the unit down better, with no success.  I am going to wash the rubber roof and seal it, but want to replace the gasket while I am up there. How hard is it to replace?  Do you remove the four hold down...

    Roof air conditioner shroud removal

Tom, How does the inside cover (on ceiling) open?  Does it snap in, or are there screws visible when you open the grate where the filter is? I'm going to try your way first.  It is allot closer to the ground! Thanks again!

    Roof air conditioner shroud removal

I have a 1998 Cardinal 5th wheel with a water leak around the air conditioner in the roof (drips inside).  If I remove the outside shroud, will ther be room to caulk around the perimerter of the unit?  How does it come off? Thanks!

    water leak

Recently I noticed (after a hard rain) that there was a puddle on my kitchen floor under the air conditioner.  Is there some type of seal up there that water could get through?  If so, can I seal it myself, or do I need someone that actually knows what to do? Would the unit have to come out to...

    no heat

Just curious.  If there was a spider in the gas jet, would it  not get burned away the few times the unit actually fired?  I'm calling the RV repair. Thanks anyway!

    no heat

My furnace in our 1998 fifth wheel (new to us) was lighting sporadically, and now not at all.  The fan goes on, and I can hear some snapping (ignitor?), but no heat.  The propane is on, and tanks full.  I can smell propane near the furnace outside vent, so I know it is getting gas.  Any...

    install window

I have a roll of the sealing tape.  Do I also need caulk, or is the sealing tape all that is needed?  Thanks so much for the advice!

    install window

I have a 1998 Cardinal fifth wheel, which I purchased used from a dealer.  After delivery, and during our 30 day warranty period, we discovered that one of the bedroom windows was screwed shut from the outside.  Upon further inspection, we discovered that much of the window hardware was missing...

    awning tie down

I have a 5th wheel with a 21' awning.  I am set up seasonally in a local park.  I have a question about awning security.  I installed awning straps from the dealer on each end of the awning, which are secured to the ground.  I also put de-flappers on each end of the awning. I have been told...

    awning

The dealer replaced the awning fabric!  It must have been really nasty when they opened it. I guess there are a few honest guys left out there. Thanks for the advice!

    awning

Thanks for the input, and you are all correct, he is under no obligation to replace it.  I would however, offer to pay for a portion of the replacement cost.  If I have to, I would replace it myself. Is it reallt easy to replace? Thanks again!
