Projector bulbs need to be replaced every 1000-2000 viewing hours. They cost usually cost $200-400. They also don't do too well with movement while hot, or with heat in general. Might not be worth it unless you really want one.
I think the outlet on top is just in case you want to put something powered up there, like a stereo. I like the look of the cat up there, though.
You could mount reading there lamps and run the plugs to that outlet.
The seller of my van pointed the switch out to me. I managed to flash a few people accidentally because the brake pedal had a habit of staying depressed before I got all my lines fixed.
The possibilities are endless.
