Black water tank not emptying fully

Mopar, what's the purpose of leaving the dump valves open during storage? I always close mine, but that's just because I tend to close things after I open them. I've never given it much thought.

    Can my truck pull this?

The best two days of a boat owners life, the day they buy it and the day they sell it.

    Another newbie looking for input

My opinion regarding the sales force. They can be helpful, but you've got to let them know you are not buying today. I was looking at a few different brands of nearly the same model at a dealership. If was funny when the sales guy started to say, "this is the right trailer for you". Then we'd...

    Can my truck pull this?

Turbo? I've wondered how hard that would be, and what it would cost. Then I start to wonder if the transmission will hold up. I don't think the truck needs gobs more power, but a flat torque curve would be really nice. Then I'd need to figure out how to make the transmission shift like I want it...

    Can my truck pull this?

Thanks for the feedback. When I posted, I was really worried that I'd be bumping right up to maximum, and that the truck would really struggle. That's not something I want to do at elevation. My wife set me straight tonight. It's important to know what my wife, the English Major, says about...

    Can my truck pull this?

I'm a little too close to the max for total comfort. And I don't know what the GAWR is, but the truck can handle 5200 front and 6010 rear. Oh, Gross Axle Weight Rating. Truck is 05 dodge ram 2500 hemi, auto, 4:10. It has 110,000 miles on it, if that matters. No oil use, runs well. Trailer I'm...

    clogged toilet problem

Now that's a crappy problem. I once had a poo pyramid that stacked from the bottom of the tank, right up in to the toilet. I didn't realize it was a straight shot from the toilet bowl to the black tank. A little stirring with a stick got things moving again.  After that little fiasco, I learned...

    Late intro

Hi, I've been on here before, but never done the introduction. The wife and I pull a Vortex 18 ft toy hauler with a Dodge 2500 hemi. We are thinking of selling the Vortex to get a normal trailer with more living space. The garage space is not all that nice of a place to hang out in. Looking at...

Looking for Help with Truck Purchase

There is one big additional cost associated with the DRW. I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned. Body work. Those extra wide rear wheel fenders tend to catch on things, like power poles, other cars, fences. For a 5er, I'd get a 1 tone with SRW and keep the trailer well within the payload...

    Battery problem

Well, I had to google Yooper. I went with the inexpensive 6 volt golf cart batteries wired in series. Those things are beasts, and have held up nicely for 4 years now. I do keep them disconnected when the trailer is not in use. I can't remember the details, but I think that propane sensors...

    Stinky water heater

Thanks for the replies. It's good to know it's no big deal.

    Stinky water heater

I'm guessing I'm not the only one, but my water heater developed a sulfur smell this summer. The smell got worse the longer the water heater was full. The only real change is moving from city water to well water. We don't get the sulfur smell around the house, which is on the same well water...

    Battery straps

I use a cam strap for each battery. Google cam strap to see pictures. River runners use the same type of strap to keep everything in the boat when they flip. You should be able to buy the cam straps at wally world, or just about any big store. Especially any sporting goods store. I also put a...

    Not a happy camper

Wow, I didn't realize I should expect things to break. What about my list of failures. It's an 18 ft toy hauler, 2006. Propane tank valve. Propane regulator. interior florescent light. Exterior light with corrosion beyond belief. Rear door leaks when towed in the rain. tears starting in...

    The "Sucker List"

I bought several packages of magnet mount LED lights powered by 3 AA batteries. Motion sensor for turning on/off. Every time I try to use one, the batteries are dead. I figured it would be nice to have lights without draining the main batteries. Didn't work out so well.
