    Towing with F150 Ecoboost

As the old saying goes, "Don't send a boy to do a man's job".  I have had and pulled with two different Power Stoke Fords, a Dodge Cummins and a Chev 2500 with a 454 gas.  Now that I'm alone, I've down sized to a 27' pull trailer and have a 2013 Chev 1500 with 5.x V-8. It does an OK job, but my...

    Credit Card Fraud Prevention

Based on my experiences lately, all of the credit card companies are stepping up their fraud protection activities. It may be a pain in the backside at times, but it am glad they are on top of it.

Nikon D50, Time to upgrade, any suggestions?

If you want to stay in the DSLR format, the D7000 s a fantastic camera. If it is a little much for your budget look around for a good used D90. Folks are upgrading and dumping their D90's and it is no slouch either.

    Traps in our stick built

Vegetable oil works and it has been used a long time.  What precautions are you taking against freezing?

    Portable Heaters

Guess I'm different, but I want my heater to make some noise just like the air filter or cooler. That gray noise helps to block out exterior noise and I sleep better.

Financing an RV, Length of Loan in Years

I've been thinking about this too. My eyes are wandering towards a new Airstream trailer and for trailers, they are not cheap. I could pay for it but at current interest rates I don't think taking money out of the market makes sense, particularly when the interest on the loan is deductible. I'll...

1st trip out... this might be bad

Like already posted, back in my work days I had to make 400-450 miles a day. Now it's a lot different. Early this summer we went from our house to ABQ and it took me three days, 620 miles and I was worn out.  Nice part about it, it makes no difference now. I have no place to be and all the time...

    Gas Grill Options

I bought an Olympia many years ago and like the proverbial Timex it just keeps on ticking. We've used it a lot and it's well worth the few extra bucks.

    Hello From Oceanside, CA

From '89 to '91 I managed the construction of a new juvenile courthouse and addition to an Orange County jail in the City of Orange.  Enjoyed my time there, truly love the ocean; however, I'm glad to be gone.  At that time we were pulling a 34' Avion and practically wore out a set of tires on...

Thanks everyone. As I get older change has become more difficult. But, I am certain I am not alone. As they say, I'm going to cowboy up and get in the truck!  :)

    San Angelo, Texas Options?

Over the years we have stayed countless times at O.G. Fisher Lake, San Angelo State Park on the south side of the lake. My memory thinks Red Arroyo or something like that. A bit wide open and the lake is a bit dry but a great place to stay that isn't too far from town.  Great place.

    RV trip in America

I lived in CO for many years. Usually we drained and poured anti-freeze into our RV in Late October and it stayed that way until late March. On those occasions when we were heading south during the winter I would leave it winterized until I got 500 miles closer to the Equator. There I would...

    Old RV'r, Newly single

Been rv'ing for 30+ years. Traveled around with big pull trailers, fifth wheels and a diesel pusher. For some unclear reason my wife lost complete interest in the rv life style about 6-7 years ago and hasn't traveled with me but twice since.  The break down of common interest continued and now...
