To get back on topic, it has been 24 hours since my second pfizer shot, arm is very slightly sore, but not nearly as sore as it was 24 hours after round one.

We just got a phone call from the health department asking if we had the inoculation yet. I said we had the first shot on March 15. She asked if wanted to be scheduled for the second shot which we said yes. We are scheduled for Monday at 0920. Will post here how it goes.

New update - my wife got Pfizer 2 yesterday. A bit of a headache this morning, which Advil cleared right up. I'm not surprised, since she's a very tough cookie.

Our friend had a bad asthma episode after Pfizer 1. Bad enough to go to the ER. She was worried about #2, but also had it yesterday and reports only being tired and headachy today. Good news!

Ya never know, ya know?

My 31 year old son had his second Pfizer shot just a few minutes before me yesterday (I ran into him at the check in desk, he was finishing up as I was on my way in), I just talked to him and he says his arm is much more sore this time than the first round, which is the opposite of what I am experiencing.

You need to find another place to post your views. Google "Qanon".

There are so many quacks coming out of the woodwork to push pseudoscience about mRNA vaccines – now, Dr. Doug Corrigan uses science pseudoscience to “prove” that the mRNA vaccines for COVID-19 are going to mess with your DNA.

Children's Health Defense says governments and corporations are using the coronavirus (SARS-COV-2) to advance a "global immunization agenda." The anti-vaccine group claims that our leaders just needed the right pandemic as a pretext to goad us into getting vaccines. This is a clever story. It's also false.Doug Corrigan pushing bad science and anti-vax tropes about mRNA vaccines

Viruses including COVID permanently alters DNA, as to the mRNA vaccine doing it, odds are it will not, but you will not find a scientist willing to bet their reputation on that. As to the dead and injured you can't look at the raw numbers as most of those sorts of studies that I have seen are counting all the people that died within X number of days of getting the vaccine, since the first group to get the vaccine in most places were the elderly, it makes sense a certain number of them are going to die in the weeks after getting the vaccine. Injured is much the same way, do you count someone that has an allergic reaction to the vaccine and has to be given an epi-pen, then watched for 2-3 hours post vaccine as serious reaction, do you count the people with such reactions that are kept in the hospital over night for observation out of an abundance of caution, or do you only count those with serious issues that last more than 24-48 hours, and can be strongly suspect as being the result of the vaccine and not some preexisting condition.

So, what does that have to do with the topic on hand, the AstraZenica vaccine seems to be less effective than the other vaccines on the new South African version of Covid, so it makes sense they would stop using it, also it is not used in the US, and out of the various vaccines is one of the ones with lower effective rates overall

One should always examine the sources of articles proporting to contain news. The “Children’s Health Defense” is a known anti-vax site. “Global Research” is a site based in Canada that describes itself as a ‘major news source on the New World Order and Washington’s “war on terrorism”.’ It believes 9-11 attacks were staged. I encourage anyone who believes these sites to contain accurate scientific information look at them carefully.

While some people prefer not to read the bad stories, they are out there. There are some issues arising from the mass vaccinations. I can attest to it myself by the same member. I was also actually scorned on the wed. night chat feature when I mentioned my problem after the first shot and had decided not to take the second one. I could not walk safely on my own for two days after the first shot. My joints were all but locked up and I could not even tie my shoes after wobbling to my computer chair. What is wrong with mentioning downsides that is being experienced in the real world and thru the millions of people , which is more than just clinical trials.
You darn right, whether you want to pause and consider that as with many other inoculations there can be issues thats not favorable to the entire population, there are problems and there is nothing wrong with discussing it, whether its on this thread or not. I don't consider that to be off topic. YMMV as with any other topic.

@Jayflight sorry to hear you had a bad reaction. I hope you contacted your doctor about it. It is perfectly valid to discuss any bad experiences, that was the point of the post in my opinion.

The reason I asked folks to keep on topic was because comments were starting to become insulting.

I have now edited and removed inflammatory and rude responses. If you can't keep the thread polite it will be closed. Thanks.

Every inoculation out there will render a negative reaction to a certain number people. And those negative reactions should be reported. Jay flights experience should be discussed without recriminations. However, because we choose to follow the science is no cause for rude comments. I would ask those that either refuse to get the shots or cannot for medical reasons to please wear a mask while in public. This will help protect the rest of us. We are getting our second shot Monday and will continue to wear masks in public and practice social distancing.

Hi Folks - Got the second Phizer shot almost 48 hours ago now, and no ill reactions. I had totally expected one. 12 hours after the first shot, I experienced 15 minutes of mild fever, chills, and a vomiting incident. After that, nothing else. Weird! Army reservist who administered 1st shot was fantastic -- didn't even feel the needle and no soreness whatsoever. 2nd shot was done by Nurse Rachett's ugly twin who jabbed like she was trying to reach someone in China! and it hurt. Yah, arm was sore, but today, even soreness is gone.

Did anyone else use the Fed's reaction reporting site via the smartphone? I think it was called "V-Safe" or something similar? Got a text message every 24 hours and answered 6 or so questions.

Jayflight, we could not find which vaccine you received. We experienced similar joint problems and just now seems to be getting better, 5 weeks after the 2nd shot. We had the moderna shots.
