    full time with dinette bed?

I just stumbled on this old thread but thought I'd add my two cents in case anyone else ever wants to try this. Unless you absolutely need the bed space, I'd avoid using the dinette. We've rented two class A rigs for our family of six and the dinette has in both cases been the least popular...

Which A/C to use while driving.

This thread is getting a bit old, but I'll add a couple of comments anyway. We rented a 36' MH for a trip east and I had this discussion with the dealer before leaving. 1) I was told it was pretty close to a wash in terms of gas consumption. I didn't do any calculations to prove it, but we...

    Locked Discussions

I just read through the whole thread and, although I thought the plug might have been pulled a bit early, it wasn't unreasonably so either. I've read a lot of posts here over the last couple of years and the staff seems to do a pretty good job of keeping arguments from getting out of hand...

    Ban NASCAR Now!

Including, occassionally, my son's. Some of those soccer moms can get pretty excitable. As can the dads.

    Ban NASCAR Now!

Think of all the electrons that gave their lives to generate that post. Oh, the humanity.

    Interesting fuel savings device

The mercury is actually pretty close to neutral because a lot of the mercury "cost" from the bulb is displaced by "savings" from not having burned as much coal (a major source of mercury dispersed into the atmosphere) to produce the power to run the mercury-free equivalent incandescent bulb...

    Another Yellowstone Thread

Two years ago we spent four days in Yellowstone in a 32' class A with no toad and did not really have much trouble getting around or finding parking. We were there in August. There were roadside turnouts and such where we might have stopped had we been driving a smaller vehicle, but most of the...

    Emergency Exit?

Along the same lines regarding helmets, my favorite comment was "Spend as much on your helmet as you think your head is worth."  :)

New to the forum, RV's, And America! Questions........

The Maritime Museum of San Diego near the Broadway pier is also great, especially if you are a fan of sailing vessels. You can wander around on the Star of India, an iron hulled clipper ship and the world's oldest active ship, or the HMS Surprise, a replica of an 18th century Royal Navy...

    Drivers

My wife did a share of the driving on our last trip, although she would generally prefer to just ride shotgun and knit while we're on the road. I don't think I would go anywhere even vaguely remote in anything she couldn't operate.

    Emergency Exit?

Bear with me, I have two stories: A friend of mine was driving from St. Cloud to Minneapolis in winter weather. Near Monticello, on a railroad overpass, the car ahead of him hit a slippery patch, skidded into the curb, and rolled down the embankment. My friend drove to the bottom of the hill...

    Re-introducing myself.

It was the best vacation we've yet taken. I've become almost an evangelist for RV travel.

    Worst Camping Trip Ever

I just stumbled on this old thread and have to say I agree completely. My best campfire stories are all from the times when things didn't go as planned, like the time I set Bowling Green, KY on fire, or the time I spent six hours hiking up switchbacks in the rain in the Pike National Forest, or...

Travel With a Purpose: Ball Park Tour

We're going to get Yankee Stadium done this summer, and haven't ruled out Shea for the same trip That'll be a total of four, or maybe five (one more for my wife - she's been to Wrigley). The bad news is that leaves 28 more even if they don't build any new ones. The worse news is that it may...

Travel With a Purpose: Ball Park Tour

I'm thinking well ahead here, but one thing I'd like to do one day is visit every major league ballpark in the country.
