No such thing as a small unit, or a big unit.  If it fits you, then it is the perfect unit.  Not to big, not to small.  Our first 5th wheel was a 1977 or 78 Country Squire 22 foot 5th wheel.  Enjoy your unit. 

I use the Garmin 465T.  You can "profile" your "truck", and leave it on truck mode.  For example, one profile is for the RV, and I have another profile for the semi.  Tells you of sharp turns, and even if you get off of a truck route.

You are correct on this, and an excellent point.  I never thought about it.  When I drove OTR tanker, the Mack I drove was awful at overpasses,  Speed would drop off like mad, then try to take off like a rocket going down until the gov kicked in.  The truck I currently drive is set at 65MPH. 

I'm guessing that your vehicle has a "flash to pass" feature in with the turn signal switch.  That is fine to use in the daytime.  It has never bothered me.  At night, as said before,  shut the headlights off for a second or two, then turn them back on.  I don't know much about motorhomes. ...
