    Louisville, KY RV Show

DH & I went to the Boat & RV Show in Louisville, KY on Friday and didn't see any we like better than our MH!  WOOHOO!!  It's not like we could have bought anything anyway but we avoided a case of the New RV Syndrome.      Don't get me wrong, there were plenty of beautiful RVs and I think more...

    Henry's Lake State Park (Idaho)

I'm working on plans for our 2013 trip and had first thought we'd stay in West Yellowstone for a few days but discovered that Henry's Lake isn't that far plus it's in Idaho so I can color in another state if we stay overnight.  ;)  It's also a LOT cheaper than Grizzly's and no doubt is much...

    Dead Horse Point SP

Some of the sites are sloped more than others.  We were in KA19 and it seems like the front end was just barely off the ground.  We didn't hike except to the visitor's center (which is nice btw) so I wasn't looking for trails into the canyon from DHP.  I don't remember seeing anything that...

    Dead Horse Point SP

We stayed 3 nights at DHP in '11 and loved it!  The sites are not huge but we had plenty of room for our 30' Class A.  There are a few that are large enough for yours but I'd jump on the reservations ASAP. Do not miss the sunset at the point!  I'd post a pic but it's not something we can do on...

How far do you go in a day?

My parents traveled a lot up until the past couple of years and stuck to the exercise every 2 hour rule religiously.  I drove them to CA a few years ago and mom was in charge of finding places to stop.  We wound up in some strange places but saw a lot of stuff that we would have missed...

What type of rv to buy??

Welcome to the forum and I want to thank you & your hubby for your service! You've got a lot to consider.  What can you afford & are you planning on keeping the RV once you've relocated?  Buying an RV for one trip might not be a finacially sound plan.  Not only do you have the purchase price...

How far do you go in a day?

We've done 400 miles in a day and that is about 2 hours more than we really like to do.  Like others have said, it isn't so much the distance as the time.  I averaged mph from start to end of the day including lunch stops, gas stops & just cause we want to stops and came up with 47mph when we...

    Yellowstone

We're also planning a trip with some time at Yellowstone for next year.  I've got a tentative itinerary which includes 3 nights in each of the following:  Beaver Creek Campground (north of West Yellowstone),  West Yellowstone and tour the west side of the park from there,  in the park somewhere...

I need help with a problem RV(!!!)

Most things in the RV have their own manuals.  We have separate manuals for the water pump, the stove, microwave, hide-a-bed, toilet, shower, thermostat, fan....EVERYTHING. If you could figure out brand & model of whatever you're dealing with, try Googling for a manual.  I think manufacturers...

    We're stuck on the road...

I hope the nitpicking snarky comments won't scare off the OP.  I want to know the outcome!  Juicy Fruit is still my fav.  ;)

    IN-Glacier-Yellowstone-Black Hills-IN in 2013

Thanks again for all the info!  I keep adding places to stay and things to do.  I'd forgotten about Bike Week and might have been in the area the 1st week of August!  Thanks for the heads up Oly. Jim, I think adding a couple of days in Bozeman and a visit to the Museum of the Rockies is...

    We're stuck on the road...

I am by no means an expert but I second harris155 and the electrical possibility.  Make sure the bat terminals are clean and you might track the ground wire down and clean it and it's connection to the frame.  We almost didn't leave on time for our Utah trip last year because of a little ground...

    IN-Glacier-Yellowstone-Black Hills-IN in 2013

Thanks for the great tips! It is so hard to decide what to see and what to skip on these trips.  I look at it as scouting trip!  We can decide where we'd like to spend more time on our next visit.  At least that is the way it worked out for our Utah trip in '11.  We found that 3 nights in one...

    IN-Glacier-Yellowstone-Black Hills-IN in 2013

To take my mind off of the depressing knowledge that "da bus" is winterized and in her garage for the next few months, I've been working on our trip next summer/fall.  We're pretty flexible on when but would like to keep the trip to about 30 days.  So...the highlights are: *Theo Roosevelt...

    MH saves Home

Generators are wonderful inventions!  After spending 5 days one winter without electricity, we bought a portable gas gen which we've used to power the house a few times as well as with other projects on the farm.  When we got the moho and started traveling for days & weeks at a time, we worried...
