    Converter Output

There should be at least a half of volt of difference read at the batteries when the converter is on and then it is switched off.  If not you may want to investigate further.

    towing with propane fridge running

Simply enough: the RV manufacturer's say right in their printed literature "turn off LP gas before travel!:"  Enough said!!

Is it necessary to have a coach battery?

Wow, the opinions vary on this and I question some responses, so let's add another! Think of your 12-volt battery as the piggy bank.  Even if parked and don't have need for 12 volt power like in a traveling situation, the battery helps meet the needs required when the 12 volt demand will not be...

awning rolls up the wrong way

With an electric awning, if you deploy it out and don't stop it will roll itself back but in the wrong manner.  Just use the "in" button to go back to the right way and the problem will solve itself!  I weep for this generation of salespeople!!

    What to pack?

Have fun and remember, everything you put in adds weight.  It is very easy to overload an RV!  Bring the basics for personal comfort, food, clothes, attachment accessories, and a few tools.  Enjoy the minimalist lifestyle!  If you forget anything, it probably was not that important.  If so, you...

I'm Official - Purchased My New RV TODAY!!

Congratulations on your new RV!  If you can find an experienced RVer in your area, or at a campground that you can chat with, that is always helpful.  RVers love to share their experiences!  that is one of the best ways to learn and avoid mistakes that others have already made!  It's also useful...

    De lamination issues

You might want to get up on the roof and check some of the sealant joints above your delamination area as well as either side of it.  Perhaps a little bit of moisture is getting in from the roof joints.  Just a thought if you have not already done so.

    Advice

We have heard that Good Sam is getting out of the emergency road service gig.  No recent confirmation of that though.  We are going to check with AAA when ours is up for renewal.

    Securing items in cabinets

We use ball bungies tied between cabinet door handles to keep the cabinet doors closed while traveling.  We had an issue once that was pretty bad.  No troubles since using this method.  We also use the non-skid shelf liners and pack glasses in paper bags and lay them down.  Most stuff travels...

Class C Rent or Buy 8,500 miles 6 week trip planned

Before you buy it, get it inspected.  5-7 years is when most things need replacement, or repair, on RV's!  159k is a lot of miles too!  Be sure to get fluids analysis on the engine and generator if it has one.  You could rack up thousands in additional costs if the RV is not what the seller says...

gas mileage towing a 5th wheel

Thanks for thinking my truck and rig are new!  The truck is a 2005 and the RV a 2006.  Hey, I love being controversial here!  It's fun to take the opposite approach to people's comments, to put another spin on a subject.  I don't have really deep pockets either.  I work too!  But, I still don't...

gas mileage towing a 5th wheel

I love this question at RV Parks when I pull in: "what kind of mileage you get with that rig?"  My answer is, "I don't care!  If I did I would probably not be RVing!"  On the other hand, I spend way less on fuel in a year than someone with a sticks and bricks who spends hours a day in traffic...

What kind of quality and craftsmanship should I expect in a new 5th wheel?

Sorry to hear of your unhappiness with your new RV.  Some of that kind of thing happens on rigs much more expensive than yours.  When new there are always issues that are factory related.  However, screws coming through walls and recliners not working as they should need to be brought to the...
