Hand Rail for steps into camper

Thanks everyone for the comments, and will keep that in mind about the lateral forces on the hand rail, we sometimes do crazy things if we are in a hurry, this is good to know info! Thanks!

Hand Rail for steps into camper

We currently have a very small hand rail for getting into the camper, as a matter of fact my wife has to be on the first step just to reach it.  I can barely get my hand around it, when climbing in, so it is tiny. So we're looking at replacing it, and getting one of the longer swing out 24" hand...

    Awnings

for the extra questions, just was wondering if anyone liked the new materials, otherwise we will go back to our regular manual, hold on for dear life awning. We will Need the whole awning not just the cloth, it self deployed during a 40mph cross wind trying to get it home about 23 miles.  I...

    Winterization - A sad day

Don't forget to get some good stinky dryer sheets to keep mice out. Regular Bounce dryer sheets work the best, we used them in our classic car while in storage, forgot one year, and the interior was wrecked. We always use them now.

    Awnings

So... my travel trailer lost it's awning this summer. Now we are in the process of looking at replacing it. Does anyone have any recommendations on them? I know there are a lot of different materials, and there are manual and automatic ones as well. For those that have replaced, what did you...

    Shock recommendations

If you have multiple 'bounces' do as mentioned and make sure that you've got tongue weight right. I went to something a bit more heavy duty for our truck, and put in BILSTEIN shocks, they cost a bit more, but I have also noticed the difference driving, and my wife has as well.

    Used RV prices

Tom, I did try that first, but couldn't find the topic,  it was so good, and had so many good listings of places to see what rvs and trailers had actually sold for. I am going to keep searching for the original, but it would be a great pinned article for those wanting to gather real pricing...

Gary! You're the man. This was the site!  Now just a couple of others and I can get back to work on exploring upgrade costs.  Going from travel trailer to 5th wheel toy hauler.

    Portable Solar Panel Question

We're close to the same set up, we have a 28' bunkhouse, and 2 solar panels that take the bunk space. Anyway to keep things easy, we just disconnect the charger off the batteries during the day, use the solar panel and a controller mounted in a waterproof toolbox to take care of waterproofing...

    Used RV prices

I lost the thread I had been reading.    :( It had a few camper web sites that had what their RVs had sold for, my hard drive crashed, and I haven't been able to recover that info. I remember one was in Texas, but not the name of the facility, and had a list for a few others. if anyone can help...

    Lost my co-pilot

Thank you, we're fighting the good fight. Take your time, it's hard, my sister in law lost her husband, she still has times it bothers her.  Nothing wrong with hurting for a while it just means that you loved and cared.  Lots of people never know what it really means.  It took me 5 years to even...

    Hunting down a leak...

Ok, next step!  There is a dent on mine, and a small area that the metal has a tiny gap, less that 1/16 of an inch, but at this point I am not discounting either one!

    Smokey WH?

Agree with the extra tenants that came along for the ride. Watch out for extra stingy bugs when you open the panel. I had a few of squatters that didn't want to give up their spot  - hornet spray took care of those. Soot was from a very industrious spider in the tube on mine. ;D

    Lost my co-pilot

Sorry for your loss, my wife is going through chemotherapy.  And as mentioned stay on the board, and visit people. Stay active, your pups really need you.
